A new generation of compact digital multimeters delivers enhanced accuracy, intuitive operation, and advanced connectivity—ideal for production, R&D, and education labs.

High-Precision Digital Multimeters

Rohde & Schwarz has introduced its latest innovation in test and measurement equipment: the R&S UDS digital multimeter series. Designed for precision, versatility, and ease of use, the new multimeters replace the long-standing R&S HMC8012, delivering significant upgrades in performance and usability. The series is available in two resolution models—5½-digit and 6½-digit—with the higher-end version boasting a basic DC accuracy of 0.0075%. These compact instruments are engineered for multi-purpose use, featuring simultaneous display of up to three measurement values on a crisp 3.5″ OVGA color display.

The key features are:

  • Supports voltage measurements up to 1000 V DC and 750 V AC
  • Measures current up to 10 A
  • Equipped with USB, LAN (Ethernet), and IEEE-488 (GPIB) interfaces
  • Enables seamless integration into automated test systems
  • Supports remote control via SCPI commands

With improved readability and an intuitive interface, users can streamline test procedures and increase efficiency. Ideal for environments ranging from production lines and system validation to troubleshooting and educational labs. It offers twelve standard measurement functions, along with built-in statistical and mathematical capabilities, limit testing, and support for both two-wire and four-wire measurements.

Connectivity is a key highlight, enabling seamless integration into automated test systems or remote setups using SCPI commands. This flexibility ensures that the R&S UDS series integrates seamlessly into existing test environments. With its robust feature set, high accuracy, and user-friendly design, the series is set to become the new standard for digital multimeters in both industrial and educational settings.
