Infineon introduces XENSIV TLE4802SC16-S0000 with inductive sensing for higher accuracy and performance

Infineon Technologies has introduced the XENSIV TLE4802SC16-S0000 inductive sensor for automotive chassis applications. It provides torque and angle measurements while resisting stray magnetic fields. The sensor supports SENT and SPC digital output protocols and integrates a coil system driver, signal conditioning circuits, and a digital signal processor (DSP) in one package.

The inductive sensor includes overvoltage and reverse polarity protection for operation in automotive environments. Housed in a RoHS-compliant, halogen-free TSSOP-16 package, it meets AEC-Q100 Grade 0 standards, operating across a temperature range from -40°C to 150°C.

The sensor works in electric power steering systems, torque and steering angle sensing, pedal, and suspension systems. Its ISO 26262 compliance supports safety systems, and the integrated cybersecurity function protects system communication from man-in-the-middle attacks.

With sensing accuracy and interference resistance, the sensor allows system design without additional shielding. Its digital protocols enable integration and system response, while the integration of functions reduces board space and system complexity.

Some of the key features of the XENSIV TLE4802SC16-S0000 inductive sensor include:

Inductive sensing for torque and angle measurements

  • Stray field robustness without additional shielding
  • Supports SENT and SPC digital output protocols
  • Overvoltage and reverse polarity protection
  • RoHS-compliant and halogen-free TSSOP-16 package
  • AEC-Q100 Grade 0 qualification (-40°C to 150°C operating range)
  • ISO 26262 compliance for safety-critical applications
  • Built-in cybersecurity function against man-in-the-middle attacks
  • First product in a new inductive sensor family

The TLE4802SC16-S0000 supports lower development costs, system reliability, and compliance with safety and environmental standards. As the first product in an inductive sensor family, it provides a platform for future automotive designs.
