Renesas have launched SLG51003 which is a part of the Power GreenPAK family, designed for battery-powered devices and advanced sensor systems. It includes three customizable low dropout regulators (LDOs), with one high-performance LDO built for analog circuits. This regulator delivers ultra-low output noise of 16 µV (rms), high power supply rejection, and precise voltage accuracy of ±1% across temperatures.

The board is used in smartphone cameras, where features like optical zoom, multi-sensor setups, and image stabilization need clean and steady power. By reducing voltage ripple and electromagnetic interference (EMI), the SLG51003 helps support sharper images, even in low-light conditions where sensor performance is affected.

In devices like drones and action cameras, space and weight are limited. The SLG51003 combines a small footprint with built-in power management. This reduces the need for extra components and helps deliver steady power, which improves image quality during motion or vibration.

Automotive camera systems, used in driver-assistance applications, work in areas with electrical noise. The SLG51003’s noise filtering helps keep image clarity and steady operation, even near sources of interference like power lines or industrial equipment.

Some of the key features of the SLG51003 include:

  • Has three LDOs that can be adjusted as needed
  • One LDO gives very clean power for sensitive circuits
  • Makes almost no noise in the power output (only 16 µV)
  • Blocks power supply noise well (68 dB at 1 MHz)
  • Keeps voltage steady even when temperature changes
  • Small size, fits easily in compact devices
  • Reduces the need for extra parts in the system
  • Helps cameras take clear pictures by cutting down interference
  • Works well even in places with a lot of electrical noise

Some other solutions can perform similar functions as the SLG51003, but they don’t offer the same level of flexibility and features. The SLG51003 includes three LDOs, while some competing parts only have two. It comes in a smaller package, provides higher PSRR, and offers extra features like I²C, GPIOs, logic blocks, delay functions, and separate input pins for each LDO.
